The colours in the artenax pieces are from an original range of colours selected especially for artenax, and we love them! Works are glazed withtransparent glaze; under-surfaces are left unglazed, polished and treated with natural beeswax. A distinctive element of her ceramics are the leather handles made from a naturally tanned leather attached by rivets or stitched on by yarn.

Silvia’s inspiration is her heritage, and interest in folkloristic traditions. Originating from Slovakia, she has a passion for crafts and her work shows an aesthetic sensibility. Living in Brighton since 1999 she was awarded distinction from the University of Brighton (2009-2012), MDes 3D materials practice specialising in ceramics and visual research.
