Penelope Timmis

Penelope Timmis lives and works on a farm in Shropshire. She studied at the Froebel Institute, Roehampton, and in Shrewsbury. Now an established painter exhibiting throughout Wales and the West of England, she won best entry with the Royal Birmingham Society of the Arts (RBSA) in 2009, and was shortlisted for the Daily Mail ‘not the Turner prize’ in 2004.  

A fellow of the Royal Society for the arts (RSA), Penelope supports Shelta Cymru and their art auctions, and presented an exhibition for the Prince’s Trust. Penelope is an elected Associate of the Birmingham Society of the Arts and an Associate of the Society of Women Artists. “Colour and movement are all that I look for in what I see around me and hope are reflected in my paintings”.
