Sara Dudman

I am intrigued by human and animal interactions, behavior and their relationships with the enviroment. Contemparary painterly qualities and drawn marks are essential components in my work, conveying an intuitive understanding of the subject and capturing their movements. Fragility and transience are expressed through unpainted or sparsly formed negative spaces. Through the process of drawing and painting, I progressivley locate and extract order from apparent chaos – drawing out patterns of movement and behaviour.

My work is a continual exploration of the dynamic between figurative representation, expression and the physical qualities of painting and drawing.
