We have a wonderful selection of statement lampshades, unusual lamp bases, and hand forged lamps. Shades are either hand painted (we can arrange bespoke striped shades in colours of your choice), hand printed from the artists’ own design, or hand made using a variety of contemporary fabrics.

One maker designs using lino cuts, which are sculpted and moulded into voluptuous botanical themes, then printed in a layered technique with French inks. When the shade is turned on the colours come alive, iridescent and glowing, revealing brushmarks and allowing the different layers to shine through. The shades are hand rolled, and bases selected to enhance the proportion and style of the design.

Another maker, inspired by nature in hedgerows and rockpools prints on natural fabrics (silk, cotton, linen) with non-toxic inks and then makes them into shades, and cushions.

And another maker fuses paper, mulberry bark, wood, copper and metal together to create large table and floor lamps. Rooted in natural forms, everything is handcrafted and beautifully made.

Bases are made from wood, metal, ceramic or recycled materials. They come in a number of different sizes and textures. Our latest products are turned from solid oak, hundreds of years’ old, recycled from Plymouth dockyard with wonderful tannin marks. Each one is completely unique and can be finished waxed or varnished.
